Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, the choir leadership explains that “Bado Anaishi” (He Still Lives) is rooted in the angelic testimony found in Luke 24:5-6—“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!” Birthed from a desire to strengthen the faith of believers, the song serves as a spiritual reminder of Christ’s eternal victory. “We wanted to sing for anyone who feels like hope is dead,” the choir shared. “Our message is simple: the grave is empty, and because He lives, we can face tomorrow.”
Now available on all major music streaming platforms, the song has resonated as a massive anthem for the Easter season and beyond. Recorded with the signature "Makuburi" excellence—characterized by grand, complex vocal arrangements, powerful soloists, and a vibrant fusion of orchestral elements with traditional African rhythms—“Bado Anaishi” reflects a moment of supreme joy, encouraging listeners to live as "Resurrection people."
Kwaya ya Mt. Kizito, Makuburi is widely regarded as one of the most influential Catholic choirs in East Africa, known for their high production standards and their ability to bring biblical narratives to life through music. Their ministry flows from a commitment to excellence and a deep-seated mission to evangelize through song. Through this release, they continue to establish their legacy as a "voice of the Church," focusing on the transformative power of the living Christ.
Through “Bado Anaishi,” the choir seeks to ignite a spirit of victory and unwavering hope. The song points every listener back to the truth that death has lost its sting and the Redeemer remains the sovereign King over all creation.
The release is accompanied by a visually stunning and energetic music video that captures the choir's famous choreography and communal joy, available now on YouTube.
