Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, the couple explains that “Nzamumenya” (I Will Know Him) is rooted in the spiritual awakening described in Job 42:5—“My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.” Birthed from their own walk of faith and the quiet moments of their shared ministry, the song serves as a prayer for deeper intimacy. “There is a difference between knowing a Name and knowing the Person,” Papi Clever shared. “We wanted to capture that longing of a soul that isn't satisfied with a distant God, but wants to walk with Him daily.”
Now available on all major music streaming platforms, the song has resonated as a "prayer room" anthem. Recorded with the signature stripped-back acoustic guitar and the seamless, heavenly vocal blending that Papi Clever and Dorcas are famous for, “Nzamumenya” reflects a moment of pure, vertical worship, encouraging listeners to seek a first-hand encounter with the Divine.
Papi Clever and Dorcas are widely regarded as the "vocal architects" of the modern Kinyarwanda worship scene, known for their prolific work in reviving classic hymns and creating new, spirit-led compositions. Their ministry flows from a commitment to simplicity, authenticity, and the power of the Word. Through this release, they continue to establish their legacy as a couple whose music doesn't just entertain, but invites the listener into a deeper, more personal relationship with Christ.
Through “Nzamumenya,” the duo seeks to ignite a hunger for God's presence in every heart. The song points every listener back to the truth that the greatest treasure in life is not what God gives us, but simply knowing who He is.
The release is accompanied by a beautifully minimalist performance video that captures the sincere connection between the couple and their Creator, available now on YouTube.
